Speed Reader collects no personal data. Everything you read, save, and track stays on your device.
Your reading library, reading progress, statistics, and settings are stored locally on your device (in the app's own browser storage). They are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted to us or anyone else. We operate no servers and no analytics.
When you add an article by URL, the app retrieves its text through the public r.jina.ai extraction service, and article images load directly from their original hosts. These requests carry only the article's address — no identity, account, or tracking information. Articles you paste or open from files never leave your device.
The optional Camera Assist feature uses your device camera to pause reading when you look away and to remind you to blink. All processing happens on your device using an on-device model. No video or images are recorded, stored, or transmitted. The camera is used only while the feature is switched on, and the feature is off by default.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers.
